Pistachio Latte Cloud (Printable Version)

A nutty pistachio milk latte crowned with whipped cold foam for a smooth, creamy treat.

# Ingredient List:

→ Pistachio Latte

01 - 1 shot (1 fl oz) espresso or 1/4 cup strong brewed coffee
02 - 1 cup (8 fl oz) pistachio milk (store-bought or homemade)
03 - 1 tablespoon pistachio syrup (adjust to taste)
04 - 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

→ Cold Foam

05 - 1/4 cup (2 fl oz) cold heavy cream
06 - 1 tablespoon milk (dairy or non-dairy)
07 - 1 teaspoon powdered sugar or simple syrup

→ Garnish

08 - 1 teaspoon chopped pistachios (optional)

# How to Make:

01 - Brew the espresso shot or prepare 1/4 cup of strong brewed coffee and set aside.
02 - Warm the pistachio milk in a small saucepan or microwave until hot but not boiling. Stir in pistachio syrup and vanilla extract if using. Froth using a milk frother or whisk vigorously.
03 - Pour the brewed espresso or coffee into a large mug or glass. Add the frothed pistachio milk over the coffee.
04 - In a small bowl, combine cold heavy cream, milk, and powdered sugar. Whip with a handheld frother or whisk until thickened but still pourable, about 30 to 45 seconds.
05 - Gently spoon or pour the whipped cold foam over the latte surface.
06 - Sprinkle chopped pistachios on top if desired and serve immediately.

# Expert Suggestions:

01 -
  • It tastes like you've hired a barista to live in your kitchen, minus the conversation about their weekend plans.
  • The whole thing takes less time than scrolling through social media, but feels like an actual treat.
  • Those pillowy clouds of cold foam on top are genuinely impossible not to smile about.
02 -
  • The cold foam will start to sink into the warm latte within a few minutes, so this is a drink that demands to be enjoyed right away—no dawdling.
  • If your pistachio milk is too thin, the drink tastes watery instead of indulgent; I learned this by accident and had to make three versions before getting it right.
03 -
  • Use the coldest heavy cream you have—if it's been sitting on the counter, it won't whip up into proper foam, and your drink loses its signature texture.
  • The ratio of foam to latte matters more than you'd think; too much foam and you're just drinking sweetened cream, too little and the drink loses its appeal.
